Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with medical procedures and treatments
  • Prepare animals for exams and surgery, ensuring their safety and comfort
  • Aid in performing laboratory tests and administering medications under the direction of a veterinarian or veterinary technician
  • Handle and prepare in-house and laboratory specimens (cytology, blood draws, blood smear, fecal, etc.)
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for both animals and staff

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a veterinary hospital setting, with knowledge of medical terminology, restraint techniques, and venipuncture
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb, as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds and lift over 50 pounds with assistance
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients and team members effectively
