Overview

Tabitha's Assisted Living Community is seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as an Assisted Living Caregiver. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, transferring, and continence.
  • Assist with senior/client admissions, discharges, transfers, and orientation of new employees.
  • Follow department protocol for submission of completed documentation.
  • Prioritize assignments to complete care for seniors/clients in allotted time, making adjustments throughout the shift to meet frequently changing needs.
  • Implement activities for seniors/clients.
  • Prepare, plate, and serve meals, snacks, and other foods requested by/for/to seniors/clients.
  • Assist with cleanup of the dining room and perform housekeeping and laundry duties as needed.
Additional Essential Functions (Med Aide)
  • Prepare and administer medications, treatments, oxygen, inhalers, and other medications as ordered by the physician and according to facility policies/procedures.
  • Administer PRN medications/treatments under the direction of the RN, within scope of practice.
  • Evaluate emergency situations and perform CPR when necessary based on training.
Qualifications
  • Communication: Sufficient fluency to understand and follow written or verbal instructions, provide instruction to others, read and understand a care plan/service plan, policies, procedures, or other similar documentation, interact successfully with others.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to gain access to the work area and safely perform the duties of the job while utilizing standard and specialized equipment.
  • Age Requirement: At least age 16.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: 6 months experience as an aide or caregiver preferred.
  • Credentials: CNA and/or MA-40 certification in good standing as demonstrated by inclusion on the Nebraska State Registry. If utilizing MA-40 certification, CPR is required. All certifications must be kept up to date at the expense of the employee.
