Job Summary
American Lithium Energy is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Battery Scientist to support the company's production expansion and technology development efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry, materials science, or engineering, and hands-on experience in Li-ion battery industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Technical Projects: Develop and execute technical projects, including cell testing and targeted experiments, to optimize cathode/anode composites and electrolytes.
- Design and Implement Scalable Techniques: Identify, develop, and implement scalable electrode coating/infiltration techniques to meet R&D objectives.
- Cell Testing and Analysis: Build cells and conduct cell testing, with a focus on rigor, repeatability, and statistical analyses in an industrial setting.
- Materials Characterization: Identify limiting factors in cell performance through electrochemical and materials characterization, and destructive physical analysis.
- Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicate procedures, results, and uncertainties in written documents and in-person meetings, and collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Lab Management and Safety: Maintain lab cleanliness and champion environmental health and safety in the daily work environment.
- Process Development and Validation: Design and validate new processes and devices, and write technical reports and proposals.
Requirements
- Education: PhD in chemistry, materials science, engineering, or related field, or M.S. with 5+ years of experience in lithium-ion R&D and/or manufacturing.
- Experience: Project management experience a plus, with exemplary verbal and written communication skills, ability to multi-task across several teams and projects, and maintain rigorous and absolute adherence to safety protocols.
- Travel: Ability to travel when necessary to fulfill objectives.
