Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver exceptional patient care, prioritizing individualized needs and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent outcomes.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive care plans, leveraging expertise in a variety of patient populations, including pulmonary, cardiac, and surgical cases.
  • Work effectively in a dynamic environment, managing vents, IV starts, telemetry, and other critical care skills.
Requirements:
  • Valid VA License
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
  • AHA ACLS certification
  • AHA BLS certification
  • NIHSS certification
  • Epic proficiency
  • Travel experience preferred
Unit and Patient Population:

This is a general SDU with a variety of patient populations, including:

  • Pulmonary – acute respiratory failure secondary to pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, and/or CHF exacerbation
  • Cardiac – NSTEMI/STEMI not requiring ICU level of care and/or downgrade from ICU
  • Sepsis not requiring pressors
  • Minor trauma – hip/femur/ankle fracture s/p fall
  • CIWA
  • DKA requiring insulin gtt
  • Surgical patients – surgeries typically go to MedSurg or ICU
