Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Professional to join our team at the Colusa Indian Community Council. As an Accounting Professional, you will be responsible for performing all aspects of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other basic duties associated with accounting procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate preparation and disbursement of checks for payment of Tribal and Enterprise operations expenses;
  • Match bills and statements to purchase orders;
  • Verify G/L coding and entry into accounting system;
  • Assist with preparation of Tribal and enterprise operations deposits;
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliation;
  • Process payments for special Tribal Member programs and maintains records/spreadsheets for these special programs;
  • Process bi-weekly payroll including payroll tax deposits;
  • Complete quarterly payroll tax return;
  • Reconcile Tribal and Enterprise operations bank account and credit card statements;
  • Complete monthly cost allocation and adjusts journal entries;
  • Attend and participate in professional conferences and workshops to enhance position related efficiency and knowledge;
  • Maintain high confidentiality standards at all times. Is required to sign a confidentiality statement upon acceptance of employment;
  • May perform other duties commensurate with the functions and level of the position.
Requirements
  • Accountant I: One (1) year of related experience;
  • Accountant II: Two (2) years of related experience;
  • Accountant III: Three (3) years of related experience;
  • Accountant IV: Four (4) years of related experience;
  • Education: Accountant I, II, III: Associates Degree or equivalent in Accounting or Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. Accountant IV: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with an Accounting concentration.
