Job Opportunity: Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver

Alternatives, Inc. is seeking a part-time overnight Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver to support adults with developmental disabilities in our residential group home. As a DSP / Caregiver, you will assist our residents with activities of daily living, implement individual behavioral plans, and encourage their interests and participation in community activities.


Responsibilities:
  • Assist residents with medication administration, cooking meals, personal hygiene, and transportation to medical appointments
  • Implement individual behavioral plans using effective teaching and mentoring techniques
  • Encourage residents' interests and participation in community activities
  • Report concerns about residents' health and safety and maintain accurate documentation

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks and a drug screen
  • Clear tuberculosis (TB) screening
  • Ability to pass and maintain required trainings such as CPR/first aid, medication administration, and positive behavioral support training
  • Basic computer skills
