We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team at Harnham. As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and maintenance of our data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Database Management
    • Oversee the management of our database, including permissions and architecture.
    • Ensure data governance and security best practices are followed.
  • ETL Pipelines
    • Create ETL pipelines to feed data into machine learning pipelines.
    • Optimize ETL pipelines to remove bottlenecks and improve performance.
  • Data Integration
    • Onboard new data sets and integrate them with existing ones.
    • Convert high-priority tasks to Change Data Capture (CDC).
  • Technical Skillsets
    • Must have 3-5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.
    • Strong Python experience.
    • Proficiency in PostgreSQL, including specific optimizations.
    • Knowledge of best practices in database architecture and security.
    • Experience with dbt or SQLmesh (data transformation tools).
  • Nice to Have
    • Experience with Change Data Capture (CDC).
    • Background in the financial industry (an economics degree is a plus).
    • Expertise in creating high-performance Python code and optimizing pipelines.
    • Familiarity with Cassandra or other NoSQL databases.
