- Monitor medication administration, handle medication storage, and manage medication records.
- Health Record Management
- Organize and maintain detailed student health records, including immunizations, health histories, and medication logs.
- Update health records regularly, ensure data accuracy, and comply with confidentiality standards.
- Healthcare Planning
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and medical professionals to create and implement individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) for students with specific health needs.
- Assess student needs, develop care plans, and coordinate with relevant parties to ensure effective care.
- Medical Emergency Response
- Provide immediate care during medical emergencies, including first aid and life-saving interventions as needed.
- Respond to emergencies swiftly, provide emergency care, and document incidents accurately.
- Health Education
- Educate students and staff on health-related topics such as hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention to promote a healthy school environment.
- Conduct health workshops, distribute educational materials, and provide one-on-one health education.
- Routine Screenings
- Conduct routine health screenings, like vision and hearing tests, and follow up on any concerns or irregularities.
- Perform screenings, document results, and refer students for further evaluation if needed.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Preferred previous experience in school or pediatric healthcare settings
- Proficiency in nursing practices across all age groups; strong communication and interpersonal skills; team-oriented, detail-oriented, with excellent organizational abilities
