Oakdale Animal Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our patients and their owners.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for animals, including kennel areas, runs, and treatment spaces.
  • Feed and care for hospitalized animals and boarders, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Monitor and record important information about animal conditions, behavior, and habits.
  • Walk animals regularly to promote exercise and socialization.
  • Notify veterinarians and veterinary technicians of any unusual medical or behavioral issues.
  • Clean and maintain treatment, exam, surgery, and lab areas daily.
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with animal restraint and treatment.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of food, cleaning supplies, and other essential items.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Flexible schedule, including some weekend and vacation shifts.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience as a kennel assistant or similar role.
