Embedded & Real-Time Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded & Real-Time Software Engineer to join our team of talented professionals at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our software organization, you will design, develop, integrate, and test software for our end-user customers and businesses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop embedded and real-time systems using various programming languages, including C, C++, and Python.
  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams to develop software products for multiple software baselines.
  • Participate in the full software development life cycle, including requirements, design, implementation, qualification, and delivery of software products.
  • Operate in an embedded technology development environment working with real-time operating systems for use in flight and mission-critical systems.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Familiarity with safety-critical embedded real-time software and experience with architecting, designing, implementing, integrating, verifying, and qualifying safety-critical embedded real-time software.
  • Experience with developing software and scripts on various programming languages, including C, C++, Python, PowerShell, VBScript, Bash, and KornShell.
  • Familiarity with static and dynamic code analysis tools and fuzzing tools, such as Coverity, Fortify, and SonarQube.
  • Active DoD Secret level clearance or Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain special program access prior to start.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with architecting, designing, modeling, implementing, maintaining, integrating, and debugging object-oriented C++ software running on real-time operating systems.
  • Experience with software change control, change management, code quality, static analysis, and CI/CD tools, such as Atlassian tool suite, Jira, GitHub, GitLab, SonarQube, Coverity, and Jenkins.
  • Experience with DOORs and software requirement specification testing using simulators, automated scripting languages, such as Python, MATLAB, JavaScript, and Bash.
  • Experience with software network interfaces and troubleshooting networks, including TCP/IP, UDP, LAN, VLAN, SNMP, and others.
