Oncology Infusion Nurse Coordinator

At Sibley Memorial Hospital, we offer a range of oncology services to patients in the Washington, D.C. metro area. As part of the esteemed Johns Hopkins Medicine network, we provide access to cutting-edge treatments, including clinical trials and immunotherapy.
We are seeking an experienced Oncology Infusion Nurse Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This role will involve reviewing patient treatment plans, ensuring accuracy and safety in our infusion center.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments and provide vital education to eligible patients via phone before their scheduled appointments.
- Optimize ACE clearance to streamline pharmacy operations and maximize infusion chair availability.
- Review lab results and collaborate with providers, pharmacists, and nurses to identify and address gaps in care early on.
- Develop tailored patient and family education programs, considering individual needs, age, culture, and learning styles.
- Manage risks and intervene proactively when medical orders require clarification.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with RN licensure in the District of Columbia.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or another bachelor's degree with a second degree in Nursing.
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience.
- 1-3 years of oncology-specific experience.
- Knowledge of central line access and maintenance.
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred, with certification required within 9 months of hire unless extended by management.
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification through ONS preferred or to be obtained within 1 month of hire, unless extended by management.
- Competitive salary: $44.23-$63.41 per hour, commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
