Job Summary

The University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is seeking qualified candidates for temporary, part-time faculty positions to teach Freshman and Sophomore level Mathematics and Statistics courses. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mathematics and Statistics, excellent teaching skills, and the ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities
  • Teach Mathematics and Statistics courses at the Freshman and Sophomore level
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and assessments
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to students
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve curriculum
  • Participate in departmental and campus-wide initiatives to promote student success and diversity, equity, and inclusion
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Mathematics or a related field and 18 graduate credit hours in Mathematics
  • Two years of experience teaching freshman and/or sophomore-level Mathematics courses
  • Ph.D., ABD, or EdD in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field (preferred)
  • At least one year of successful teaching experience at a community college (preferred)
  • Documented training to teach online classes (preferred)
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, student success, and working with broadly diverse communities
