Job Overview

Volkert Inc is seeking a talented Structural Engineer in Training to support our Southeast Region in Atlanta, GA.

The ideal candidate will assist a team of Engineers on a variety of projects, including structural design and engineering studies, by performing engineering-related tasks such as research, development, design, plans production, and delivery on assigned project(s).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the preparation or modification of reports, plans, and designs for projects using latest software and 3D Design Techniques
  • Assist in the preparation of project quantity and cost estimates
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Participate in the collection and analysis of data and preparation of satisfactory designs
  • Perform design calculations and conduct investigative analyses toward completion of assigned design tasks, and direct preparation of design specifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
  • Emphasis in structural knowledge
  • 1 – 4 years of structural engineering experience (preferably GDOT)
  • Previous GDOT experience desired but not required
  • EIT (E.I) Certification is required
  • Experience with MicroStation
