Job Description

Enterprise Mobility Inc is seeking a skilled Release Manager 2 to join our team. As a Release Manager 2, you will be responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and post-release monitoring activities for releasing Software to Production, as well as infrastructure maintenance events for on-premise, AWS cloud, and Azure cloud products.

The Release Management team within Vehicle Solutions is responsible for the planning, directing, coordinating, and post-release monitoring activities for releasing Software to Production, as well as infrastructure maintenance events for on-premise, AWS cloud, and Azure cloud products. These vehicle systems directly manage the Enterprise Mobility fleet of vehicles through their lifecycle and tightly integrate with other IT groups like Rental, Risk, and Admin Systems.

As a Release Manager 2, you will collaborate with product solutions teams and others to define and develop detailed Orchestration Plans for the release. You will conduct interim review of the plan and coordinate post-release health checks of the solutions. You are encouraged to identify opportunities to improve current processes, collaborating with various teams and management to streamline or automate manual tasks.

You will work with teams to identify and document issues and risks, recommend solutions, and work with senior management to implement solutions. Although we strongly support a healthy work-life balance, this position will require a flexible work schedule. Many of our release and maintenance events occur in the evening and periodically on weekends.

The immediate focus of this position will be to learn the vehicle release process and manage all the steps necessary to release. There will be opportunities to collaborate with your team and leaders on optimizing steps. Over the next few years, there will be a balance of maintaining the releases for existing software while also looking towards the future to further mature the release process for cloud solutions.

As a release manager, you will be part of these future conversations to evaluate what's possible and collaborate as a team on how to adjust parts of the process the team has identified. You will focus on Release for Vehicle Solutions products, which include application releases and infrastructure maintenance. Additional responsibilities may include the following:

  • Schedule and facilitate the orchestration planning of maintenance and release changes for application development teams.
  • Provide timely, accurate communication to IT and Business stakeholders related to status updates, system availability, and completion notifications activities we support.
  • Demonstrate experience in problem solving, including analyzing symptoms and causes, identifying and defining the problem to be solved, collecting data, establishing the facts, drawing valid conclusions and developing solutions.
  • Excellent at building and maintaining relationships across Information Technology teams.
  • Demonstrate customer service support focus to deliver the highest, most consistent level of customer service.
  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to schedule application releases and maintenance changes for production, including workplans and timelines.
  • Create and maintain build deployment and maintenance schedules for the test environments.
  • Submit work requests to teams involved in deployment and maintenance tasks.
  • Anticipate issues and identify risks for a release or maintenance event, including dependency, resource, and scheduling conflicts; recommend solutions and work with management across IT teams to implement them.
  • Organize and coordinate changes across IT teams to identify scope or schedule conflicts that could impact the success of release and maintenance changes
  • Track the key milestones of the release and maintenance schedule through the development and deployment lifecycle. Monitor and report on status, health and risks.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to define and promote release and maintenance processes.
  • Define performance metrics for reporting the quality of releases and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with various IT teams to evaluate the quality of release and maintenance activities to identify and implement process improvements, including automation. Facilitate regular Lessons Learned or Retrospective discussions based on optimization needs.
  • Support release deployment and infrastructure maintenance calls after hours.

Qualifications:

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
  • Must be able to work a schedule within U.S. Central Standard Time core business hours.
  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
  • 5+ years of related experience in a fast paced IT environment (application development, release management, project management, etc.)
  • 2+ years of experience working in an IT application development environment, release management, or IT support
  • Highly organized, detail orientation is a must
  • Must have proven experience in ITSM change management in ServiceNow or similar system
  • Must have proven experience assessing, modifying, optimizing processes and collaborating with others to implement those changes
  • Must have displayed leadership and team centric skills, strong solution orientation, and communication
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
