Porter/Custodial

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Porter/Custodial to join our team at Big Y. As a key member of our facilities team, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe, clean, and attractive environment for our customers and employees.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize the meat cutting area, kitchen, and bakery area to ensure a high level of food safety and quality.
• Maintain proper department conditions and supplies, including racks, sales floor, bottle redemption area, closets, and workstations.
• Operate equipment and machinery safely and efficiently to perform maintenance and janitorial duties.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of the store.

Requirements:

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Physical ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
