Are you a compassionate caregiver looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others? We invite you to join our team as a Direct Support Professional in Morrilton, AR.


As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality of life for individuals served by AHG. Your responsibilities will include:


  • Providing quality care to individuals in their homes as needed.
  • Ensuring the safety and health of individuals through continuous monitoring.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of grooming and hygiene, bathing, toileting, oral care, shaving, dressing, and grooming.
  • Providing transportation in accordance with individual social, medical, and general developmental needs, and goals.
  • Treating individuals with respect and dignity, assisting them to meet their personal outcome goals, and choices, emphasizing person-centered supports.
  • Providing dietary options, assisting individuals or preparing meals in accordance with dietary plans, and encouraging individuals to successfully complete dining objectives.
  • Ensuring the quality care of individuals' homes, maintaining cleanliness and good repair through daily cleaning, laundry, testing smoke and CO2 alarms, and maintaining appropriate water temperatures.
  • Providing quality medical care to individuals, understanding and delivering care in compliance with the IP and company procedures, administering medications or assisting individuals as needed, monitoring health-related issues such as dysphasia, seizures, diabetes, etc., and assisting with medical appointments as needed.
  • Understanding and handling Self-Injurious Behaviors (SIB), physical aggression, spitting, biting, pinching, property destruction, PICA, verbal aggression.

Charting and Documentation:
  • Maintaining individuals' records and other documentation per established procedures.
  • Ensuring timeliness, completeness, and accuracy of oral and written communications.

Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED.

Skills:
  • Ability to follow detailed plans accurately.
  • Ability to apply sound, mature decisions.
  • Ability to bend, stop, sit, stand, reach, and lift items weighing at least 75 pounds.

Computer Experience:
  • Word, Excel, additional software.

Additional Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's License or State I.D. and liability insurance.
  • Satisfactory TB Questionnaire.
  • Acceptable Criminal background and Abuse checks as in accordance with State.

Relationships:
This position works under the direct supervision of the House Manager or Program Coordinator and has direct contact with our individuals.
