Position Overview

As a Military Vehicle Operator in the Army National Guard, you will serve a vital role in logistical support. Your responsibilities will include the transportation of essential supplies and equipment, ensuring the operational readiness of the Guard.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the accurate loading and unloading of cargo on various military vehicles and trailers.

• Implement convoy defense strategies to ensure the safety of transported personnel and materials.

Essential Skills

• Background in driver education is beneficial.

• A strong interest in driving and mechanical systems.

Through comprehensive training, you will acquire the necessary skills to transition into a civilian career within the trucking, moving, or bus industries as a heavy truck or bus driver.

Compensation During Training
Instead of incurring costs to learn these skills, you will receive compensation while training. In the Army National Guard, you will gain valuable job skills while earning a steady income and qualifying for educational assistance.

Training Program
Training for a Military Vehicle Operator consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you will learn fundamental soldiering skills, followed by seven weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT) focused on operating various military vehicles. This training includes both classroom instruction and practical field experience.

Requirements
  • Must enlist in the Army National Guard
  • At least a junior in high school, or possess a high school diploma or GED
  • Age requirement: between 17 and 35 years
  • Ability to pass a physical examination and meet legal and moral standards
  • Must meet citizenship criteria
