Job Title: Acquisitions Associate - RE Developer
About the Role:
The LaSalle Group is seeking an experienced Acquisitions Associate - RE Developer to join their team. As a key member of the development team, you will play a crucial role in identifying, analyzing, and executing real estate development and investment opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Source and evaluate potential real estate development and investment opportunities
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and create detailed pro forma models for potential projects
- Perform due diligence on target properties, including market research, zoning analysis, and property inspections
- Prepare investment memoranda and present findings to the senior management team
- Assist in negotiations with property owners, brokers, and other stakeholders
- Collaborate with internal teams (design, construction, finance) throughout the development process
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities
- Support the development and refinement of investment and development strategies
- Assist in managing relationships with investors, lenders, and other external partners
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or master's degree is a plus
- 3+ years of experience in real estate acquisitions, development, investment banking, or related fields
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling and underwriting real estate deals
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and real estate-specific software
- Solid understanding of real estate markets, property valuation, and development processes
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with retail and multifamily preferred
- Knowledge of the Chicago metropolitan area real estate market preferred
- Familiarity with real estate financial analysis tools (e.g., ARGUS, CoStar) preferred
- Understanding of zoning regulations and entitlement processes preferred
