Job Summary:

Siffron is seeking a skilled Extrusion Maintenance Technician to join our team in a custom profile plastic extrusion setting. As a maintenance mechanic, you will be responsible for repairing various production machines, including extruders, saws, pullers, cutters, and other downstream/fabrication equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain physical structures, including building and grounds.
  • Perform masonry work, repair plumbing fixtures, and woodwork.
  • Make repairs and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Repair, maintain, and install low voltage electrical systems, appliances, and fixtures.
  • Measure, cut, bond, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit, water, and air lines.
  • Move, install, and adjust appliances, fixtures, motors, and other electrical/mechanical equipment for safety.
  • Patch concrete and perform repairs on roof and furniture.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Follow detailed instructions from others or written format.
  • Make routine checks on equipment, document status, and complete necessary reports using CMMS software.
  • Assist higher level mechanics and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Request assistance from others for any problems beyond area of knowledge or expertise.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Assist Injection molding with breakdown maintenance.
  • Assist with various projects in the plant involving Injection Molding when necessary.

Performance Measures:

  • Able to work independently and part of a team.
  • Able to accept responsibility.
  • Able to read and follow detailed instructions.
  • Willing to adhere to safety requirements.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday; Shift: 2nd (2:00pm - 10:00pm)
  • Mandatory overtime as determined by production and various projects when production is not running.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Three to five years of maintenance trades experience is a plus.
  • Industrial electrical knowledge/experience required.
  • Programmable Logic Controller experience preferred.
  • Pneumatic knowledge preferred.

Skills:

  • Must be able to communicate in English, both written and verbally.
  • Basic mathematic knowledge required.
  • Must know how to read measuring instruments (tape measures, calipers, etc.)

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations:

  • Mechanical certificate preferred.
  • Industrial electrical certificate preferred.
  • PLC certificate preferred.
  • Hydraulic/pneumatic certificate preferred.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

  • Able to lift 50 pounds repetitively.
  • Able to work in a production environment.
  • Requires bending/stooping.
  • Able to walk, stand, and otherwise perform job functions on concrete floors with safety boots/shoes.
  • Work in manufacturing environment occasionally being exposed to dust, odors, fumes, and noise.
