Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Nurse II to join our Adult Psychiatric Unit at Alameda Health System. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, identify patient needs, and prioritize care to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and other interventions as prescribed by physicians and in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Monitor patient progress, report changes, and adjust care plans as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and educational activities to enhance patient care and staff development.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Minimum six months experience as a Clinical Nurse I with AHS or the equivalent of one year full-time recent experience at a comparable level in a minimum 100-bed hospital or in the area of specialty.
  • Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
  • ACLS certification required; other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • TNCC certification (for Emergency Department positions).
  • CCRN certification (for Critical Care positions).
  • TEAM Training (for positions at John George Psychiatric Pavilion and Emergency Department).
Working Conditions

This is a full-time, night shift position at John George Psychiatric Hospital. The successful candidate will be required to work a rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays.
