Job Summary

The General Manager will lead and oversee all aspects of plant operations, including workplace health and safety, community engagement, production efficiency, product quality, food safety, regulatory compliance, reliability, continuous improvement, and cost control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop location-specific strategic vision and goals that align with and support the overall organization's vision and goals.
  • Provide leadership for the plant operations management team, setting clear, concise expectations around behaviors and key performance indicators.
  • Foster a culture of accountability through employee engagement, empowerment, and regular, open, and honest dialogue.
  • Promote a culture of employee and product safety by understanding and supporting Daily's safety programs, operating principles, and quality management system.
  • Drive a continuous improvement mindset through the implementation of lean manufacturing processes.
  • Manage the facility budget, including cost management and capital expenditures.
  • Ensure all capital projects are on time, within budget, and deliver agreed-upon expectations.
  • Collaborate with customers, suppliers, vendors, and senior leadership.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as directed by Daily's management.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Responsible for leading, engaging, and developing over 400 employees, including six (6) direct reports and three (3) indirect/dotted-line reports.

Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred, with ten (10) or more years of progressive experience, including Plant Manager responsibilities, in food manufacturing, specifically within animal protein.
  • Experience in project management for large capital construction projects is a plus.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret in the English language correspondence, general business reports, professional journals, technical procedures, or Government regulations.
  • Ability to write clear, accurate, and concise reports and business correspondence.
  • Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from Supervisors, regulators, consultants, and the general public.
Work Environment

Work environment varies from an office setting, production floor, and outside climate conditions, based on the situation. Noise level may vary within areas of the plant. Must be able to tolerate cold (45 degrees or colder) and wet conditions.
