About the Role

Abbott Laboratories is a global healthcare leader seeking a skilled Analytical Instrument Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Global Engineering Services division, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our analytical equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform service, calibration, and qualification of analytical instruments and equipment, applying complex principles and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ensure tasks are completed in compliance with approved procedures, standards, and quality requirements.
  • Maintain measurement traceability of Abbott products through measurement standards and artifacts.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to resolve equipment issues and provide expert advice on measurement disciplines.
  • Communicate work status, problems, and general information to customers, supervision, and associates.
  • Participate in workplace safety and quality audits, and contribute to corporate and departmental programs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or a related field, or equivalent experience and demonstrated competence.
  • 3+ years of experience in quality systems, qualification, and validation in a pharmaceutical or medical device environment.
  • Instrument use and service experience on a wide variety of analytical instruments, including HPLC, UPLC, FPLC, spectrophotometers, photometers, refractometers, and plate readers.
  • Experience in developing chemical reference materials and standards, and measurement uncertainties and statistical process control.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in quality systems, qualification, and validation in a pharmaceutical or medical device environment.
  • Quality and technical background in healthcare, nutritional products, laboratory diagnostics, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or similar industries.
  • Knowledge of measurement principles, measurement systems, metrology statistics, measurement assurance, and metrology software.
