We are in search of a Cloud Security Engineer who will take charge of ensuring our cloud infrastructure is securely managed while reducing friction for our internal teams. The perfect candidate will be innovative and ready to utilize cutting-edge technologies to solve unique challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and refine the cloud security framework. Foster cyber resilience and support zero trust initiatives.
- Possess knowledge of Governance, Risk, and Compliance as it pertains to cloud engineering.
- Collaborate with the infrastructure team to enhance the reliability and security of our cloud systems.
- Automate security controls in the cloud to mitigate threats, vulnerabilities, and risks.
- Implement and uphold the AWS well-architected framework.
- Engage with teams across Mercury to tackle remote access issues in a remote-first setting.
- Address security concerns in the cloud with various teams and stakeholders throughout Mercury.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- A strong commitment to learning and growth, with a proven history of achievement.
- Familiarity with recognized security frameworks and privacy regulations (e.g., NIST CSF, FFIEC, SOX, SOC2, GLBA, ISO27018, PCI-DSS).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, with the capacity to remain composed in high-pressure situations.
- A solid understanding of accepted security practices, troubleshooting methods, attack vectors, and customer support.
- AWS certifications are highly regarded.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools is beneficial.
Compensation: The total rewards package at Mercury includes a competitive base salary, equity (stock options), and comprehensive benefits. The salary ranges for this position are:
- For US employees: $160,400 - $188,700
- For Canadian employees: CAD $146,000 - $171,100
*Mercury operates as a financial technology firm, not a traditional bank. Banking services are provided by affiliated institutions.
