Job Description

Job Summary:

  • Leads and directs pharmacists and pharmacy operations managers to ensure team member engagement and professional growth.
  • Drives overall compliance and business results of the pharmacy across operations, quality, clinical outcomes, and growth.
  • Ensures proper pharmacy practice, including monitoring, evaluating, and implementing prescription drug orders, dispensing, patient education, and medication therapy management.
  • Responsible for compounding, labeling, and safe storage of drugs and devices.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for fulfilling Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) requirements, upholding board of pharmacy, state, and federal law, ensuring all pharmacy personnel complies with federal and state pharmacy and drug laws, rules, and regulations.

Customer Experience:

  • Engages customers and patients by greeting and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Resolves customer complaints and answers questions to ensure a positive patient experience.
  • Develops strong relationships with customers by anticipating needs and offering services.

Operations:

  • Upholds compliance and state licensure requirements as mandated by state legislation and the Board of Pharmacy.
  • Counsels patients and answers questions regarding medicine usage, side effects, interactions, and contraindications.
  • Performs pharmacist tasks, including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.

People & Performance Management:

  • Supervises Pharmacy Operations Manager's execution of pharmacy operations, including record-keeping and auditing, inventory, and pharmacy maintenance.
  • Supervises Staff Pharmacists in execution of core pharmacist duties, including patient care, provision of healthcare services, and inventory management.
  • Makes hiring, promotion, and performance management decisions.

Training & Personal Development:

  • Maintains and enhances current knowledge and skills related to pharmacy and healthcare.
  • Obtains necessary certifications, education credits, and follows performance improvement plans.

Business Performance Management:

  • Identifies sales opportunities to ensure pharmacy growth and performance.
  • Responsible for analyzing performance data, including pharmacy financial, customer service, and inventory.

Basic Qualifications:

  • PharmD Degree from an accredited educational institution.
  • Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district (or willing to obtain in 1 year) per district guidelines.
  • Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 30 days of hire.
  • 1 year pharmacy experience in a retail setting, including prescription filling and verification, records and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, and pharmacy software and technology systems.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

· Georgia Licensed Pharmacist

· Strong work ethic and business acumen

· Accuracy, Reliability, and Teamwork are essential

· Excellent verbal communication skills

· Attention to detail with the ability to follow verbal and written directions

· Positive attitude along with dependable performance

· Maintain professional behavior at all times with coworkers, vendors, and management
