Key Responsibilities:

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will:

  • Conduct diagnostic tests by preparing and administering radioactive substances to patients, creating images that highlight abnormalities.
  • Explain imaging procedures to patients and address any inquiries.
  • Order radiopharmaceuticals and ensure quality control measures are met.
  • Calculate and document radiation dosages in accordance with physician prescriptions.
  • Perform regular quality control checks on imaging equipment.
  • Maintain safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure.
  • Collaborate with external organizations to communicate findings and information.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • An Associate's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology (Bachelor's preferred)
  • A valid New Mexico State License for Nuclear Medicine
  • Certification as CNMT or ARRT (N) and credentials for any additional modalities
  • BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
  • Strong technical skills and the ability to work independently
