The Production Sorter plays a vital role in preparing and sorting donations for the sales floor, ensuring a seamless customer experience. This position requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sort, price, and tag donated goods for the sales floor
  • Ensure quality of merchandise and pre-sort items for salvage
  • Meet daily production goals of at least 5 racks, 100 pieces per rack or team goal as approved
  • Perform daily and nightly recovery of sales floor
  • Assist customers by answering questions and providing excellent customer service
  • Maintain compliance with safety and housekeeping practices and expectations
  • Promote the mission and values of Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake, Inc.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior retail, production, warehouse, material handling, or customer service experience preferred
Working Conditions

Employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions. The noise level is usually moderate.

Reports to: Manager on duty
