Optometric Technician

Join Nationwide Vision as an Optometric Technician and be a valuable asset to our team of optometrists. As a key member of our staff, you will assist in providing a world-class Total Patient Experience.

• Embody our Total Patient Experience by building relationships with patients and delivering exceptional medical support.
• Display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly, and thank them when they leave.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including HIPAA.
• Practice urgency at all times, prioritizing patient and doctor time.
• Operate manual and automated equipment, including lensometers, autorefractors, and retinal cameras.
• Follow scripting for testing equipment and maintain examination equipment.
• Set phoropters to patient prescriptions or reset to plano as requested.
• Interact with all levels of employees in a courteous and professional manner.
• Perform general office duties and cleaning as assigned by the manager.
• Demonstrate initiative in accomplishing practice goals and creating a positive work environment.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Previous medical office experience preferred, with optometric experience strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year in a customer-facing role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Favorable background check result.
• Ability to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States.

Work takes place in a normal office/clinical environment. Travel to other locations may be necessary to fulfill essential duties and responsibilities.

Exposure to blood or bodily fluids may occur. Various cleaning supplies may also be used.
