Position Overview
Zane State College is seeking a highly qualified Director of Clinical Education-Physical Therapist Assistant to join our faculty team.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate student learning and professional development through educational and discipline-specific activities.
- Enhance the learning process through participation in college, professional, and community activities.
- Develop, conduct, and coordinate the clinical education program.
- Provide clinical teaching and mentoring to clinical faculty.
- Plan, develop, and implement curriculum and instructional materials.
- Participate in program assessment and evaluation.
- Maintain accurate records and reports.
- Use technology to enhance teaching and learning.
- Integrate workplace values and principles into the learning environment.
- Prepare and distribute course syllabi.
- Schedule and maintain office hours.
Clinical Education Duties
- Assign students to clinical education experiences.
- Ensure supervision and feedback provided to students is appropriate for each student in each clinical education experience.
- Communicate information about clinical education with core faculty, clinical education sites, clinical education faculty, and students.
- Inform students and clinical faculty of nondiscrimination policies and monitor compliance.
Professional Growth
- Participate in professional activities and collaborations.
- Explore innovative teaching, learning, and technology practices.
- Create, implement, and evaluate an annual individualized plan for professional growth.
Service
- Promote a positive working relationship through participation and leadership service to students, the college, professional organizations, and the community.
Qualifications
- Holds an active, unencumbered PT license in any United States jurisdiction and is in compliance with the practice act in the jurisdiction of Ohio.
- Has a minimum of three years of full-time, post-licensure clinical practice.
- Two years of clinical practice experience must include experience as a site coordinator of clinical education or clinical instructor, or two years of experience in teaching, curriculum development, and administration in a physical therapy education program.
