Job Title: MMIC Design Engineer

Join Macom Technology Solutions Holdings, Inc. as a MMIC Design Engineer and contribute to the design and development of cutting-edge semiconductor products for the DataCenter, Telecommunication, and Industrial and Defense markets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Repackage existing MMICs into new packages, create necessary assembly and outline drawings, and write evaluation test plans.
  • Work with our package and assembly teams to come up with new and more cost-effective packaging and assembly methods.
  • Design MMIC products that could include amplifiers, attenuators, switches, or multifunction MMICs, utilizing technologies such as GaAs, GaN, or SOI.
  • Be responsible for all design activities and related product development activities from kickoff through engineering evaluation.
  • Initiate prototype builds and manage product characterization, including designing evaluation boards and characterization fixtures, and directing or performing measurements.
  • Provide clear status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing DC and RF test data.
  • Work with our Product Engineering group to transfer products to production.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • RF and microwave design coursework.
  • Experience with modern simulation tools and ability to learn new microwave design software such as ADS.
  • Basic knowledge of transistors, amplifiers, switches, and other microwave components.
  • Some experience with hands-on board level tuning and optimization of matching networks.
  • Experience with microwave measurement equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power meters is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or other drawing packages is a plus.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB and LabView is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build long-lasting partnerships.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office products.
