We appreciate your willingness to volunteer in our schools. Parental and community involvement are essential to student success, and we value your time and contribution in support of our educational programs.

Getting Started

The first step is to fill out a volunteer application with our district. We conduct criminal background checks on all applicants through the Washington State Patrol. There are no fees to applicants. A volunteer application must be filled out every three school years. Volunteers are expected to follow all current district policies and procedures while volunteering. Please expect the application process to take at least one week.

Roles and Expectations

Volunteers serve as helpers working under the direction of a school staff member. Your responsibilities include:

  • Accepting direction from district staff members and, if applicable, attending specific training before assisting with any activity.
  • Referencing any student problem that may arise to the classroom teacher or district staff member.
  • Abiding by the building's procedures for signing in and out of the building each day.
  • Following all district policies and procedures.
  • Dressing appropriately.
