Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caregiver to join our team at Sapphire at Firwood Gardens. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in providing personalized care and support to our residents, promoting their independence, dignity, and well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with daily activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Monitor and report any changes in residents' physical or mental health
  • Assist with serving resident meals and snacks
  • Provide companionship and build positive relationships with clients to reduce feelings of isolation or loneliness
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of care provided, including daily logs, progress notes, and incident reports
  • Maintain resident confidentiality
  • Encourage clients to participate in activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being
  • Support clients in maintaining independence in their daily routines and decision-making
  • Ensure a safe environment by identifying and addressing potential hazards in the community setting
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies, such as falls, injuries, or sudden health changes, following established protocols
  • Collaborate with the care team, including healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members, to provide coordinated care
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure clarity and understanding of care plans and any changes
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in caregiving, home care, or community-based care is preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and assisting clients with mobility
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and reach for extended periods
  • Ability to pass a background check
