Job Summary

We are seeking a certified laboratory professional to perform waived, moderate, and high complexity testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Urinalysis, Coagulation, and Molecular Diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform waived, moderate, and high complexity testing as defined by CLIA, including Blood Bank, Hematology slide reviews/manual differentials, and Urinalysis.
  • Collect samples: perform phlebotomy, including capillary, venous, and therapeutic phlebotomies; swab collections including nasal, nasopharyngeal, and throat; urine collections for routine testing, drugs of abuse, and chain of custody.
  • Process samples for analysis in the lab or for shipment to the reference lab, evaluate samples for acceptability based on sample and testing requirements, analyze samples on appropriate equipment, and assess results for accuracy before releasing to the provider or patient.
  • Responsible for appropriate stewardship of reagents and supplies in the laboratory, report needed supplies according to procedure, and help maintain Blood Bank unit inventory.
  • Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality.
Requirements
  • Current Certification/Licensure as a Medical Lab Technician, Medical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Technologist in WA State, or otherwise meeting the educational requirements of CLIA (42 CFR ) for performing High Complexity Laboratory testing.
  • Prior healthcare experience required.
  • Prior laboratory experience performing phlebotomy, waived, moderate complexity, and high complexity testing preferred.
Work Schedule

Tuesday - Friday and available for rotating Blood Bank call schedule with every other weekend available for call. No more than four days in a row on call, unless helping cover time off.
