The operations supervisor will oversee a team of department heads, assistant managers, and hourly staff to ensure that all operational objectives are achieved while continuously adapting to shifting job priorities. Effectively balancing workloads across all warehouse sectors is crucial for optimizing workflow. To fulfill customer commitments and deadlines, it is essential to establish clear shift and departmental goals.

In this role, the operations supervisor must embody our core values and cultivate a positive environment that promotes the growth and development of all team members. The ability to engage with a diverse workforce and maintain open communication regarding all policies and procedures is imperative.

Compensation: $95,000 annual salary (commensurate with experience)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations – implement and uphold warehouse operational policies and procedures concerning shipping, receiving, and other operational areas as business needs dictate; recommend necessary procedural changes.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of all facility areas.
  • Continuously assess departmental structure and personnel adjustments to ensure optimal staff utilization.
  • Manage staffing levels by achieving targeted goals, effectively recruiting, training, and developing all employees.
  • Collaborate with frontline managers to ensure they engage with their teams to:
    • Conduct performance evaluations to encourage ongoing learning, growth, and development.
    • Support employee discipline in collaboration with HR during counseling sessions.
    • Keep staff updated on current events and provide information on departmental and company initiatives through regular team meetings.
  • Engage with all partners within the supply chain – delivery, inventory management, retail, merchandising, HR, loss prevention, and others as needed to support efficient operations.
  • Fulfill customer commitments by emphasizing quality and accuracy – minimizing product damage.
  • Maintain budgetary constraints and targeted expenses by understanding the monthly profit and loss statements of the shift and related departments.
  • Occasionally assist with hands-on tasks to boost morale and ensure timely completion of work.
  • Promote a culture of safety by adhering to all safety policies and ensuring the team maintains cleanliness and organization in the work environment.
  • Demonstrate commitment to supporting the business by being flexible with work hours, including holidays and weekends, and performing additional duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced warehouse setting.
  • Critical thinking skills to analyze data and solve problems.
  • Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and listening abilities.
  • Required to stand and walk 80% of the time to oversee operations.
  • Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of progressive leadership experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong computer proficiency.
  • Mathematical aptitude.
