Position Overview

Animal Hospital of Rye is looking for a board-certified or residency-trained Internist or Oncologist to become part of our dedicated team. We welcome applications from third-year residents. This role presents a distinctive opportunity to join a well-established practice focused on small animal internal medicine and oncology.

This position will collaborate with our current Chief of Staff, who is residency-trained in internal medicine, a generalist with advanced medical and soft tissue surgical expertise, and a third associate who specializes in orthopedic surgery.

We pride ourselves on offering a more personalized environment with a customized approach to meet the needs of our clients and staff, in contrast to larger specialty facilities:
  • Enjoy a balanced work/life schedule with a 4-day workweek (Monday-Thursday).
  • No on-call duties, overnight shifts, or weekend work.
  • Utilize electronic medical records, allowing for potential remote work opportunities.
  • Caseload consists of approximately 50% internal medicine and 50% oncology appointments for initial consultations, with a higher percentage of follow-up oncology visits due to chemotherapy.
  • Flexibility to modify appointment types based on the candidate's interests and comfort level, including the option to see general practice appointments if desired.
  • Work alongside a highly skilled support team with a 3:1 technician-to-doctor ratio.
  • Access to a well-equipped facility featuring endoscopy, GE S7 ultrasound, digital x-ray, a 16-slice CT scanner, in-house and Antech lab services, and an on-site rehabilitation center with an underwater treadmill.
  • Maintain close collaboration with several specialty centers for additional services as needed, with after-hours emergency coverage provided by a local 24-hour ER.
