Healthcare Nutrition Assistant

Position Overview:
The Culinary Service Associate is responsible for adhering to safe food handling and sanitation protocols while executing designated cleaning and food preparation tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide essential health care services to eligible individuals in alignment with the self-governance compact and funding agreements.
2. Accurately place food items on patient trays by interpreting regular or modified menus and individual dietary requirements, ensuring all necessary condiments, utensils, and beverages are included.
3. Portion food items into standard serving sizes using appropriate measuring tools and adhere to modified diet menus.
4. Set up and dismantle salad and dessert stations, ensuring all food items and supplies are properly managed and cleaned after each meal service in accordance with safety and sanitation standards.
5. Assemble and prepare simple food items, including sandwiches, salads, and beverages, while delivering trays to patient areas using heated or cooled carts.
6. Assist with meal count documentation as necessary and serve trays in a sanitary, precise, and visually appealing manner.
7. Operate and maintain dishwashing equipment to ensure cleanliness of the work area.
8. Uphold cleanliness in the work environment, including dish machines, pot washers, tables, food carts, and storage areas.
9. Store food and supplies following established policies and procedures, and comply with USDA and HACCP guidelines.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not entail supervisory duties.
Qualifications:
Education: No formal education required.
Experience: A minimum of six (6) months of relevant experience is necessary.
Certifications: Must obtain a Food Handlers Card within three months of employment and maintain certification throughout the duration of employment.
Other Requirements:
Employees must not be under sanction by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or listed on any exclusion lists.
Physical Requirements:
This role frequently requires standing, walking, using hands, reaching, climbing, and the ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities are necessary for this position.
Work Environment:
Employees often work near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to wet or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.
Work Schedule:
Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
