Job Title: Information Systems Security Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Engineer to join our team at Base-2 Solutions, LLC. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing technical security assessments of computing environments, identifying vulnerabilities, and recommending mitigation strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform technical security assessments of computing environments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Validate and verify system security requirements definitions and analysis.
  • Design, develop, implement, and integrate IA and security systems and system components.
  • Assist architects and systems developers in the identification and implementation of appropriate information security functionality.
  • Support the building of security architectures and enforce the design and implementation of trusted relationships among external systems and architectures.
  • Assess and mitigate system security threats/risks throughout the program life cycle.
  • Contribute to the security planning, assessment, risk analysis, risk management, certification, and awareness activities for system and networking operations.
Requirements:
  • Fourteen years of experience as an ISSE on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • CISSP certification.
Preferred Skills:
  • Full understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and procedures.
  • Experience with NIST security control implementation and self-testing.
  • Experience reviewing vulnerability scans.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Relevant ISSO, ISSM, and/or ISSE experience in the cybersecurity career field.
