Position Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

Overview:
This position is for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) within a healthcare setting. The role involves providing essential nursing care to patients in stable conditions and predictable scenarios, adhering to the Professional Nurses Practice Act.

Salary:
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience, including additional shift differentials.

Job Type:
Classified position within the Louisiana Department of State Civil Service.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Implement nursing care plans focusing on comfort, hygiene, and safety.
2. Monitor patients for changes in their physical and mental health, reporting significant observations.
3. Collect specimens for laboratory analysis as required.
4. Measure and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
5. Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols.
6. Document patient conditions and treatment outcomes accurately.
7. Participate in patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
8. Provide assistance to physicians during examinations and procedures.

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a valid Louisiana nursing license or a temporary permit to practice practical nursing, or a multi-state license from a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state.
