Job Title: Addiction Counselor

We are seeking a skilled Addiction Counselor to join our team at True North Recovery Inc. As an Addiction Counselor, you will be responsible for providing case management services to participants within the program and acting as an advocate for the participant.

**Key Responsibilities:**
  • Maintains relationships with partnering agencies and referral sources.
  • Efficiently documents billable interactions into AKAIMS.
  • Cordinates with referral sources, involved family members, community agencies, and treatment providers to provide optimal treatment and case management options.
  • Provides motivational interviewing, social, and emotional support to participants entering and engaging in program.
  • Assists participants in identifying case management services and coordinating referrals that pertain to employment, mental health, housing, medical care, and other needed resources.
  • Develops and updates personalized plans with participants prior to program completion to ensure they leave the program with a clear plan for continued housing, employment, support, and treatment needs.

Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in human services or related field.
  • One year of continuous sobriety prior to hire (if in recovery) and active participation in a recovery support program.
  • Must obtain CDC II within 3 years of hire.
  • Valid Alaska driver's license and insurable under TRUE NORTH RECOVERY INC's automotive insurance.
