Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant/Caregiver

Reports to: Director of Nursing

Hours: 7pm - 7am, Saturday and Sunday

Job Summary:

The Certified Nursing Assistant/Caregiver provides medical and physical care to residents in a skilled nursing/memory care/assisted living facility. This role requires a strong advocate for residents' psychosocial well-being, building meaningful relationships and supporting social service needs. The caregiver plans and facilitates social activities, maintains a clean and safe environment, and supports the household homemaker in personal laundry care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Attend to resident personal hygiene and care needs, including grooming, hygiene, dining, mobility, elimination, psychosocial, and safety needs.
  • Provide restorative therapy under the leadership of therapy professionals and in accordance with residents' functional maintenance plans.
  • Observe residents closely, identifying changing needs and conditions, and report immediately to nursing.
  • Participate actively in residents' plans of care, serving as their closest advocate in directing their care and honoring their preferences.
  • Work collaboratively with household team members to meet residents' needs and desires.
  • Continually seek opportunities to meet residents' psychosocial needs through care planned and spontaneous actions.
  • Plan and organize social activities for individual residents, small groups, and the household.
  • Maintain equipment, games, and supplies for use in supporting resident and household activity choices.
  • Maintain clean spaces in the household, including resident rooms, common spaces, and support spaces.
  • Support all aspects of the household environment, including pets, plants, children, visitors, and guests.
  • Coordinate work with the household homemaker to ensure personal laundry needs are met.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or GED preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a skilled nursing/memory care/assisted living facility and dementia experience preferred.
  • North Carolina Certified Nurse Aide One certification required.
