Position Overview
- Engage in various tasks requiring significant physical effort in highway construction projects; assist in preparing equipment or vehicles for operational use.
- Execute deliveries as required.
- Organize and stage necessary equipment along with product and backup supplies.
- Perform recommended preventative maintenance on all equipment.
- Ensure a tidy job site: collect all tools and equipment, securing the site daily to mitigate potential hazards.
- Handle and store materials efficiently.
- Assist in the routine maintenance of all vehicles (ensuring they are fueled, fluids are checked and topped, and tire pressure is appropriate).
- Load and unload trucks, transporting and lifting materials as needed.
- Deliver materials to various job sites.
- Adhere to safety protocols and incident reporting procedures. Report issues to the Supervisor/Foreman, Safety Director, or Branch Manager.
- Preferred 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to consistently lift up to 50 lbs is required.
- Capacity to stand or walk for extended periods is essential.
- Familiarity with the proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies utilized in heavy/highway construction is advantageous.
- Forklift certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience with towing trailers using pickup trucks is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of first aid and relevant safety measures is beneficial.
- Ability to follow multiple instructions effectively.
- Must be organized and self-driven.
- Experience with computer systems will be helpful for occasional road sign creation.
The salary range for this role is between $19 and $20 per hour. The offered base pay will consider internal equity and may vary based on the candidate's geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

- Benefits eligibility begins on the 1st of the month following hire.
