Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at Nugget Casino Resort. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining public order, enforcing safety rules, and protecting guests, team members, property, and assets during assigned shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Patrol and Surveillance: Patrol designated areas to prevent theft, violence, infractions of company procedures or policies, gaming regulations, and safety rules.
  2. Incident Reporting: Collect and compile information to complete detailed incident reports, including theft, property damage, or other incidents affecting guests or employees.
  3. Communication: Respond to all security calls in a timely manner, operate communication equipment properly, safely, and according to company policy and procedure.
  4. Alarm Response: Respond to alarms in a timely manner and take appropriate action.
  5. Transportation: Transport company funds and confidential materials in a safe, secure, timely, and proper manner.
  6. Guest Identification: Perform guest identification checks to ensure proper age of guests playing or drinking at the Nugget and attending special events.
  7. Assistance: Assist guests and team members with directions, and answer questions as needed in a professional courteous manner.
  8. Medical Response: Provide comfort and initiate medical response to ill or injured persons within company guidelines.
  9. Exclusion and Apprehension: Exclude and/or apprehend violators according to established guidelines.
  10. Communication and Teamwork: Stay informed of the company's safety and emergency action procedures, dispatch security personnel and/or outside emergency services as required, and complete all Security department paperwork in a timely and efficient manner.
  11. Professionalism: Establish and maintain effective channels of communication with all levels of the Nugget team and guests, recognize team members who are going "above and beyond" as appropriate, and consistently follow Nugget policies and procedures as well as appropriate local, state, and federal regulations.
  12. Safety and Well-being: Perform work in a safe manner and always maintain a safe environment for fellow team members and guests alike, immediately report unsafe conditions, team member or guest incidents to Security, Management, and the Safety Manager.
  13. Professional Image: Maintain a positive and professional image for the Nugget when performing duties or representing the Nugget and encourages others to do the same.
  14. Attendance: Regular predictable attendance is required.
Requirements
  • Age: Minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Language: Effectively communicate with others both verbally and in written form using the English language.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in security, law enforcement, or the military is preferred.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Employee Gaming registration required, Alcohol Awareness Certification within the first 30 days required, and a valid Nevada driver's license and clean 3-year DMV record required upon hire.
