Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will work directly with our general ledger, performing account reconciliations, and assisting various departments. You will utilize federal and state regulations, organizational policies, and principles of governmental accounting to drive results. Emphasis will be placed on developing, reviewing, and modifying accounting procedures, systems, and policies. Additionally, you will perform routine to complex accounting tasks, including preparing and analyzing fiscal reports, and interpreting and following the Fiscal Control Act.
Requirements
This role requires a strong foundation in general accounting principles, methods, and practices. You must be able to analyze data, produce customized financial, statistical, and narrative reports, lead the work of others, and understand the planning and budgeting process and internal controls. Other essential skills include analytical thinking, excellent written and verbal communication, interpretation and application of rules, policies, and regulations, ability to establish and maintain relationships with all levels of the organization, and maintaining confidentiality of information reviewed. A successful candidate will also have problem-solving skills, be resourceful in gathering/giving information in a diplomatic manner, and possess a working knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment, including Microsoft Office.
