We're on a mission to revolutionize the way software systems understand language. Our team, led by CEO Amr Awadallah, includes experts from Google, Elasticsearch, Databricks, and Twilio. We're passionate about developing advanced language understanding capabilities.

This role is with our machine learning team, where you'll work on cutting-edge projects that push the boundaries of information retrieval. To succeed, you should have:

  • A strong passion for working with deep neural methods and natural language processing.
  • Industry expertise or recent graduate studies in this area.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team setting.
  • An openness to living and working in Silicon Valley (with occasional office days).

We're looking for someone with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Multimodal and multilingual implementation.
  • Dual-encoder models, transformer-based rerankers, or large language models for information retrieval.
  • Experience with popular deep learning toolkits like PyTorch or JAX.
  • Design and development of online learning systems.
  • Neural approaches to open-domain QA and zero-shot IR.
  • Familiarity with sparse and dense IR methods.
  • Machine learning techniques, including deep learning.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Published research.
  • Vector database expertise, including performance measurement and quantization techniques.

Estimated Salary: $180,000 - $250,000 per year
