We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at Christus Health. As a key member of our operating room staff, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients, maintaining aseptic techniques and actively monitoring situations that could lead to breaches in aseptic technique.
- Prepare patient skin for surgery in accordance with hospital standards, positioning patients according to the type of surgery and identifying and caring for biological specimens.
- Prepare the Operating Room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to type of case, ensuring that preference cards are kept up to date and as complete as possible.
- Work effectively as a member of the team caring for the patient, cooperating in team planning and execution, and maintaining a safe environment by implementing technical and aseptic practices.
- Demonstrate clinical expertise in the use and care of all surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment, adhering to Universal Barrier Precautions for both patient and own safety in all patient care situations.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of the Surgical Technology program required
- 2 or more years of experience preferred
- BLS required
- Certification of Surgical Technologist from The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting within 180 days of graduation or LVN/LPN License required
