We are a leading producer of metals and recyclers of batteries for a clean energy future. Based in St. Louis, Missouri, our company is a privately held natural resources company and one of the largest lead producers in the Western Hemisphere.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Sr. Metallurgical Engineer to provide expertise in mineral processing, pyro-metallurgical, or hydrometallurgical plant operations. This position is located at our Buick Resource Recycling Division in Boss, MO.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct and direct others in the execution of metallurgical research programs to improve current and create new processing techniques.
  • Oversee sampling programs, analyze data, and examine opportunities to improve current Doe Run plant operations.
  • Communicate processes, procedures, conditions, and status to departmental employees and other stakeholders.
  • Coach, provide guidance, and develop knowledge and skill base of entry-level engineers and technical staff.
  • Evaluate projects by working with vendors, consultants, and educators to test and evaluate new and upgraded equipment, reagents, and flow sheets or processes.
Requirements
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in metallurgy, preferably in metal/non-metal hydro or pyro metallurgy or minerals processing.
  • Experience training and developing technical staff.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgical Engineering or related field.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Regularly uses a computer and phone. Frequently uses hand tools (powered and non-powered). Occasionally uses personnel carriers and loading/hauling equipment. Rarely uses cutting/welding equipment. Frequently required to work in outdoor weather conditions, wear PPE including but not limited to eye protection, hearing protection, and foot protection.
