Job Summary

Mercy Hospital Springfield is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our Vascular OR team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Pre-Operative Preparation: Prepare operating rooms, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff.
  • Surgical Assistance: Assist surgeons and other medical professionals during procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and handling instruments and equipment as needed.
  • Post-Operative Care: Assist with patient recovery, monitoring vital signs, and providing support to patients and families as needed.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with nurses, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and efficient patient care.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
Requirements
  • Certifications: CORST, CST, or TSC certification, with BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience as a Surgical Technologist in a hospital setting, with 1+ year of experience in interventional vascular procedures.
  • Skills: Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
