Position Overview:
TRC is looking for an Environmental Field Technician to join our Ambient Air Monitoring team in New York, NY.

As one of the leading providers of air quality consulting services globally, TRC offers a comprehensive range of services including ambient air quality monitoring, meteorological assessments, source testing, permitting, dispersion modeling, performance guarantee testing, and expert testimony.

With a dedicated team of over 250 air quality scientists and engineers across more than 30 offices, TRC's Air Quality division provides unmatched expertise in consulting, permitting, monitoring, and testing.

*This position requires onsite responsibilities in Brooklyn.

Key Responsibilities:
The specific duties and tasks associated with this role include:

- Operating, repairing, and performing routine maintenance on monitoring equipment utilized at project sites.

- Calibrating sampling instruments following manufacturer and TRC protocols.

- Troubleshooting equipment as necessary.

- Accurately completing data sheets, calibration logs, chain of custody documents, and all required paperwork.

- Compiling and processing data, including the use of Microsoft Excel.

- Adhering strictly to site Health and Safety protocols as outlined in the Health & Safety Plan.

- Identifying data discrepancies and resolving technical, mechanical, or electronic issues related to erroneous data.

- Working independently while demonstrating strong communication skills (both written and verbal).

- Completing a 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and site-specific training.

Qualifications:

Essential Requirements:
- Proficiency and experience with gas chromatography.

- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.

- Strong mechanical and electronic maintenance skills.

- Ability to identify data discrepancies and resolve related issues.

- Capability to work independently with effective communication skills (both written and verbal).

- A valid driver's license.


Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment background check, drug screening, and any client-required checks.

Note that this role involves walking significant distances around designated project areas.

Previous experience in sampling air pollutants in ambient or indoor environments is highly preferred.

This experience should encompass participation in environmental monitoring initiatives in field settings, data review, validation, and reporting.

Compensation:

In accordance with local regulations, the salary range for this position is applicable to the job and location associated with this role.

Compensation will vary based on experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other relevant factors.

Additional Compensation:

Employees may qualify for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program, which is contingent on company, business segment, and individual performance against Key Performance Indicators that may vary by year and employee.
