Secondary Teacher

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Secondary Teacher to join our team at West Jefferson High. As an Academic Leader, you will be responsible for promoting the mental, physical, emotional, and social growth of our students.

• Instructional Leadership: Develop and implement effective lesson plans to ensure student achievement and development.
• Classroom Management: Establish a positive and productive learning environment, utilizing various techniques to promote student engagement and motivation.
• Communication: Effectively communicate with students, parents, and school personnel to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including class lists, attendance, health records, and report cards.
• Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in education and to enhance teaching skills.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
• Certification: Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate.
• Experience: Previous teaching experience in a secondary setting.

The teacher will work in a school setting, adhering to School Board energy policy and in outside areas subject to climate extremes.

• Physical: Standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting 10 pounds may be required.
• Mental: Ability to plan and implement effective education programs, understand and interpret written and verbal instructions, and maintain accurate records.
