Department Overview

The Americas Division is responsible for performing corporate functions and supervising U.S. entities. The division is further divided into the Global Banking Unit and the Global Markets Unit, which perform business functions.

Investor Services and Business Solution Department

The Investor Services and Business Solution Department is responsible for distributing, agency services, and developing new business opportunities for syndicated loan transactions. The department also develops and executes business and operation plans and manages day-to-day operations and administrative matters.

Your Role Overview

The Associate position has two main roles: Agency and Syndication (Origination and Distribution).

Agency:

  1. Oversee and perform necessary agent functions, including communicating with customers and other lenders for loan servicing and distribution of documents.
  2. Act as the primary point of contact with external borrowers and/or lenders in relation to loan agency & administration function.
  3. Perform business review of credit documentation, regulatory compliance review, and booking of new investments and for amendments or periodic review.
  4. Ensure compliance and operational requirements are satisfied before closing and for amendments.
  5. Coordinate with internal and third parties to effect bookings, amendments, and funding.
  6. Support Credit Analysts with Branch and Head Office monitoring and reporting requirements.
  7. Track credit documentation and other customer reporting requirements for timely receipt.
  8. Maintain related systems, reports, credit files, and websites, as well as assign application numbers and records approvals.
  9. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Syndication (Origination and Distribution):

  1. Continuously monitor market trends to identify active participants, prevailing market terms and pricing, market depth, and other factors influencing lending and underwriting decisions.
  2. Advise and pitch to clients on market status, optimal structures, and syndication strategies for best execution in the syndicated loan capital markets.
  3. Collaborate with other departments to develop market-based structures and innovative capital raising solutions.
  4. Build and maintain relationships with other banks and non-bank institutions to gather market intelligence during the origination process and assess market capacity during syndication.
  5. Work closely with other departments to originate syndicated loan mandates and execute transactions once mandated.
  6. Develop junior members of the Distribution and Agency team and assist originators in managing deal teams during new deal origination and execution.
  7. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Your Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field with at least 5 years of related experience.
  2. 2+ years of Loan Agency and Administration preferred.
  3. General knowledge of banking principles and/or loan markets.
  4. Excellent organization skills and detail-oriented.
  5. Good interpersonal skills for a team-oriented environment.
  6. Advanced in Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Access).
  7. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

The specific salary offered to an employment applicant is based on the individual's qualifications, experiences, the job responsibilities, an analysis of the current compensation paid for similar roles in the local geographic area, and key distinctions of the job as compared to current jobs in the Branch. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
