We are seeking a highly qualified Associate/Full Professor in Applied Mathematics to join our tenure-track faculty at the University of Alabama. The successful candidate will augment our department's strengths in mathematical modeling, computational, and theoretical approaches with machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques.
About the PositionThe appointment will begin on August 16, 2025, and we expect the successful candidate to take advantage of our new $96 million-dollar High Performance Computing and Data Center that will come online in 2024-2025. The minimum qualifications for this position are a Ph.D. or equivalent in mathematics or a closely related field, postdoctoral experience, scholarly publications, and experience in ML/AI.
Responsibilities- Develop a high-quality, externally funded research program
- Teach and mentor at the undergraduate and graduate levels effectively
